Machine Model
Machine Model
To create sand molds for metal parts to be produced by casting, an exact replica of the part is produced. Models are categorized according to the material used:
WOOD MODELING
•Wooden Model Making: This is a traditional type of model making preferred for easy processing, lightweight designs, and small-scale castings.
METAL MODELING
• Metal Modeling: These are durable models made from aluminum, bronze, or cast iron, used in high-volume mass production castings.
PLASTIC AND EPOXY MODELING
• Plastic and Epoxy Modeling: This involves modeling using synthetic resins (such as Araldite) and polyurethane materials that are highly abrasion-resistant and moisture-resistant.
STYROFOAM (POLYSTYRENE) MODELING
• Styrofoam (Polystyrene) Model Making: It is generally used as a melting model in one-off or very large-sized part castings (for casting by gasification method).
MATCH MODELING
• Core Modeling: This involves the design and production of boxes into which sand cores, used to create the cavities (holes, channels, etc.) inside parts, are pressed.
